A popular Nigerian Fuji musician, Saheed Osupa, has sparked widespread reactions online after openly admitting to using traditional spiritual practices, commonly referred to as “juju,” to achieve success in his career.

The revelation, which surfaced in a trending video, has since sparked discussion across social media.

Confession During Live Performance

Osupa made the statement while performing at the 62nd birthday celebration of veteran actor Fatai Odua, popularly known as Lalude, on March 30, 2026.

In the now-viral clip, the Fuji star was seen addressing his backup singers, who appeared to be struggling to keep up with his performance.

He jokingly advised them to seek spiritual help to improve their memory and delivery.

“Why Should I Deny It?”

Speaking further, Osupa revealed he had once been advised to deny engaging in such practices but refused.

“Somebody told me one time to grant an interview, denying that I’m a fetish person, but I told him that I am, and why should I deny it. I didn’t kill anyone with my juju or commit evil with it. I am only looking for how to progress. Nothing more,” he said.

He added that he regularly pays homage to Ifa as part of his personal beliefs.

“Is It Panadol That Will Make Me Successful?”

The Fuji star also humorously questioned other means of achieving success.

“If I don’t engage in voodoo, what else should I have employed. Is it Phensic or Panadol that will make me successful? It is not good to be poor and still not live a good life. Even if one is not enormously rich but should enjoy comfort,” he said.

“Everybody Practises It”

Osupa further claimed that many people engage in similar practices but choose to keep it private.

“Everybody practises voodoo. While some hide behind the scenes to do theirs, I do mine in the open. All those talks of mine that I rely solely on the Bible and the Quran are pure lies,” he added.
