Speaking passionately at the demonstration, she said, “As you are seeing me, I’m a young widow. I am a lady whose husband was kidnapped and killed after paying ransom just one year after my wedding, and I gave birth to a set of twins. I have a lifetime experience that is heartbreaking all through my life.”

Her emotional testimony highlighted the intersection of insecurity and governance issues in Nigeria.

Calls for free and fair elections

She urged the Senate to implement reforms that would ensure transparency and accountability in elections.

We want electronic transmission of our election results, real-time electronic transmission, one man, one vote. Our votes must count. That’s all why we are here, and that’s why I’m here,” she added.
