Media personality Daddy Freeze has shared his opinion on the frequent comparisons between Wizkid and the late Afrobeat icon Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, arguing that the two operate on very different levels of impact.

This comes amid the beef between Wizkid and Fela’s son Seun Kuti who called him out.

Seun had called out Wizkid’s fans over making comparison between his father and Wizkid.

However, Wizkid had berated him, noting that he is far better than his father, the legendary singer.

Daddy Freeze slams Wizkid

The media personality, Daddy Freeze noted that Wizkid shouldn’t compare himself with Fela.

He explained that Fela’s influence was rooted not just in his music but in his active resistance against political oppression, which came with serious personal sacrifices.

According to him, Fela consistently challenged authority, endured arrests, and used his art as a tool for social agitation and advocacy.

Daddy Freeze noted that Fela’s legacy was built on courage, activism, and a willingness to risk everything for the freedoms he believed in, stressing that these elements are what truly defined him beyond his musical achievements.

“Until Wizkid is ready to stand up and carry stones to Government House, he shouldn’t compare himself to Fela. Fela put his skin in the game. Fela wasn’t a troublemaker; he was a freedom fighter. agitation and music go and together, you can’t separate the two. Fela went to jail fighting for our right”.
