Kannywood actor, Malam Nata’ala reportedly passes away

Popular Kannywood actor Mato Na Mato, fondly known as Malam Nata’ala, has reportedly passed away following a long battle with illness.

The late actor, a native of Potiskum in Yobe State, was widely recognized for his remarkable role as an almajiri school teacher in the hit Arewa24 Hausa drama series Dadin Kowa.

Before his death, Mato Na Mato had repeatedly appealed for public assistance on social media to help cover his mounting medical expenses.

In August, he had had pleaded for forgiveness from anyone whom he might have wronged in anyway, while revealing that he spends 250k weekly on injection for his condition.

His plea eventually caught the attention of Niger Republic’s President, General Abdourahamane Tchiani, who generously donated ₦27 million to support his treatment.

Nigerians express sympathy

Fans and colleagues in the Kannywood industry have since taken to social media to mourn the late actor, describing him as a talented performer who brought depth and authenticity to every role he played.

His family and relatives are yet to make a public statement as regards news of his demise, while fans and social media users have been left heartbroken by the news of his passing.
