Somtochukwu Maduagwu passed away on September 29, 2025, after an armed robbery incident at her residence in Abuja.

According to a fresh report from Arise News Channel, the tragic incident occurred around 3 am on Monday, September 29, 2025.

According to the report, the security personnel reached out to the police during the robbery, but received no response.

However, Somtochukwu and the security guard were rushed to Maitama District Hospital, where they tragically died.

According to relatives, their deaths were due to delayed medical treatment, with hospital staff demanding their identification documents.

During her lifetime Somtochukwu worked for Arise News Channel, and quickly rose to prominence as a respected voice in journalism.

Notably, she was known for her professionalism and passion for storytelling.

 Maduagwu had a background in law and won the Miss Tourism Nigeria pageant and went on to represent Nigeria at the Miss Tourism World pageant in China in 2023.
