2027: “I’m with Tinubu” – Cubana Chief Priest declares House of Reps ambition

Popular socialite and nightlife entrepreneur, Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, has formally announced plans to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections.

The celebrity businessman disclosed this via his Instagram page, stating that he will run on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a move he described as strategic and carefully calculated.

According to him, aligning with the ruling party provides a stronger opportunity to influence decisions at the federal level, particularly in advocating for the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Explaining why he chose to remain with the APC despite prevailing opposition sentiments in parts of the South-East, Cubana Chief Priest said operating outside government limits one’s ability to effect meaningful change.

“I no fit help Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from opposition. I have always been an APC.

“My father, Governor Hope, has worked hard on APC for me not to support him as DG renewed hope,” he said.

He also addressed questions about his political stance during the 2023 general elections, when he publicly supported Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Clarifying the issue, he explained that his involvement in the Obidient movement happened while he was serving as a Special Adviser to Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma.

“Last election, as special adviser to Governor hope, I worked for Peter obi, but this time I dey with Asiwaju,” he said.

Cubana Chief Priest added that his 2027 ambition represents a deliberate shift from online influence to active political participation.

He noted that the South-East needs younger and influential individuals within the political system to effectively negotiate and promote the region’s interests at the federal level.
