Young man arrested for buying goods worth over N1m with fake alert

A young man was detained by Nigerian Police officers for reportedly creating a false alert and using it to pay for products costing more than N1 million (One Million Naira).

He was handcuffed in the market when his fraud was discovered, as seen in a video that recently surfaced online.

Before police were summoned to step in, a mob of enraged people allegedly tried to execute jungle justice on him.

The victim snatched the suspect’s phone and took a picture of the false alert that the suspect had previously shown and provided to him as payment proof.

He was eventually stripped down to his underwear by traders and taken to the station.
