With 6 years flight experience, BBN’s Maria reacts to Pere’s comment about using mobile phones during a flight

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Maria Chike Benjamin has reacted to her co-reality star, Pere Egbi’s comment about using mobile phones during a flight.

Pere had sparked a debate online after he warned Nigerians of the dangers of leaving their phones on during take-off and landing.

He had tweeted, “Dear Nigerians, when the flight crew says turn off all mobile devices especially during the critical phases of taking off and landing, TURN IT OFF! Those texts and calls can wait! Safety first! Happy Friday!”

However, controversial media personality, Daddy Freeze, disagreed with his statement, adding that nothing can happen to an aircraft even if someone is on a call during takeoff or landing.

BBN’s Maria has now weighed into the conversation and she concurred with Daddy Freeze’s stance. Citing her experience in the aviation sector, the former air hostess said a phone can’t affect an aircraft at any stage of the flight.

“As an ex flight attendant for 6 years and a trained basic pilot there’s absolutely nothing that can happen to the aircraft/flight all any stages of the flight, take off, cruise and landing stages. Thank you,” Maria wrote.
