On Thursday, May 8, 2025, the Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) found the two guilty of the allegations and sentenced them.

Additionally, the Federal High Court in Ikoyi’s Justice Owoeye imposed the term along with the possibility of a N200,000 fine.

Some Nigerian figures, such as controversial artist Portable, Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, and comedian AY Makun, who recently spoke out about a similar occurrence, have been involved in Naira mutilation cases with the EFCC.
