Controversial Nigerian artist, Speed Darlington, whose real name is Darlington Okoye, has been released from Kuje prison.

His freedom was confirmed on Tuesday by activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju, who shared the news on X, stating: “Speed Darlington is out of Kuje Prison.”
The singer, also known as Akpi, had recently been granted bail by an Abuja court.

This development came after the Nigeria Police Force, under pressure, finally arraigned him in court.

Okoye had previously written a petition to the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Dasuki Galadanchi, calling for the enforcement of a court order regarding his prolonged detention.
Okoye had been taken into custody after accusing Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy of having an improper relationship with P. Diddy, the American rapper and music mogul.
