In one video clip from the event, Oba Ogunwusi engaged with Prophetess Naomi as she held onto their son. This reunion is especially significant, given Queen Naomi’s announcement in December 2021 that she was ending her three-year marriage to the monarch.

Notably, in a recent interview, Naomi ruled out any chance of returning to the palace, explaining that her former husband’s decision to marry six other wives meant she would not consider rejoining the royal household.

Reflecting on her marriage, she acknowledged both joyful and difficult times, admitting that she was “too innocent and soft” when she first married the Ooni. Now, she said, her experiences have shown her that life isn’t as simple as she once believed.

The Ooni, in turn, opened up in October about his own struggles following the end of their marriage. He shared how he faced ridicule from the public, as people mocked him for lacking a queen, leaving him to question his situation and seek guidance from God. According to him, God encouraged him to be patient, leading to a new chapter where he now has six wives in the palace.

Following his split from Naomi, the Ooni married six other women—Olori Mariam, Olori Elizabeth Akinmuda, Olori Tobi Phillips, Olori Ashley, Olori Ronke, and Olori Temitope—over the span of three months. Their union in Akure has sparked conversation, highlighting the ongoing complexities of the monarch’s personal life.
