Nigerian man sentenced to life imprisonment for raping and murdering 61-year-old woman

A Nigerian man identified Chukwuka Nweke has been sentenced to life imprisonment for raping and murdering a 61-year-old white lady in Italy.

The 61-year-old Rovereto woman, has been identified as Iris Setti.

According to reports, the Nigerian man, Chukwuka Nweke, who is known for abusing drugs, physically attacked the woman in a public park in the northeastern Italian city of Rovereto in Trento.

Reports from the Italian news, ANSA says that Nweke was found guilty of 3 charges; that is murder, robbery, sexual violence, and was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Eyewitnesses say that Chukwuka viciously attacked the woman, threw her on the ground, hitting her face and head with his fists and a blunt object.

He reportedly fled the scene but was caught and arrested by the police and taken into custody. The woman, however, did not survive due to the velocity of the injuries she suffered.

The reason for his attack is not know yet.
