15-year-old Elia Balamwabo of DR Congo has been named the best player in the recently concluded CAF Under-16 championship after he captained his country to win the tournament.

Although he led DR Congo U16 team to claim the 2022 CAF U16 African School title by beating the Senegal U16 team in the final, Elia Balamwabo’s looks and his proclaimed age have been dubbed a mystery.
