Armani, whose net worth was estimated by Forbes to be $12.1 billion, was one of the most influential designers of the past half-century. His minimalist yet refined approach to tailoring revolutionised modern fashion, bringing a new wave of relaxed sophistication to red carpets, film, and business wardrobes worldwide.

This year marked the 50th anniversary of his namesake label. He was expected to headline Milan Fashion Week with anniversary celebrations, but his absence from June’s menswear shows, the first time in decades, had fueled speculation about his health.
