A Nigerian lady has narrated how she defied the odds against her to emerge the best graduating student in her department at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Imo state.
Ihetu Chimdinma Adaugo, in a post on LinkedIn revealed that she originally studying Medicine at Madonna University but had to drop out in 300 level when she lost her parents.
She re-wrote JAMB twice and eventually settled for studying Biomedical Technology at FUTO.
After six years of combining Medical courses, Engineering courses and science courses also due to delay caused by coronavirus, she eventually graduated as the best student in her class.
Adaugo shared photos of herself in her graduation gown and wrote;
”After losing both parents..
After having to drop out of Madonna university in my 3rd year where I was studying medicine and surgery same year after losing my parents…
After having to re-write jamb and not see any result for the postutme….
Then I re-applied for jamb, put in Federal University of Technology Owerri the next year and took up Biomedical Technology because it seemed like the closest thing to medicine(Boy was I wrong) I picked myself from the dust and faced school squarely..
6 years(due to Corona) of combining Medical courses, Engineering courses and science courses
10 years after secondary school, here I am to say thank God for this achievement.
I made it, the best graduating student of Biomedical Technology 2019/2020 set. #bestgraduatingstudent #engineering #biomedicalengineering”
