Nigerian comedian and skitmaker, popularly known as Sanku, has passed away following a car accident along Ogbomoso Road in Oyo State.

Sanku’s death was confirmed on Monday by actor Yemi Elesho via his official Facebook page, sending shockwaves across social media.

In a chilling coincidence, Sanku had released a skit on August 4 in which he humorously depicted himself in heaven after death.

In the video, he lamented the absence of expected attendees and jokingly asked his partner to join him in hell so they could enjoy life together.

Nollywood actors and fans have taken to social media to express their grief over the comedian’s untimely death.

Sharing heartbreak, Actress Funmi Awelewa wrote. “The pain, the effort, the strength, the struggle… walai nothing make sense. I’m heartbroken. Even film sef never come out! It does not make sense.”

Reports indicate that Sanku and another victim were critically hurt, but the comedian ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Even if it’s just a driver and one passenger in each car, it’s much safer. From what I observed, the accident happened on a road that is both busy and yet quiet at the same time. Imagine how many hours they must have been trapped before help arrived. And even after being rescued, there was no vehicle immediately available to rush them to the hospital. It’s also risky for strangers to stop on such quiet roads to render assistance. But if there had been multiple cars in the convoy, I strongly believe help would have come faster and they could have been taken to the hospital immediately. Besides, the chances of all vehicles having a tire burst at the same time are very slim. Please, let’s all prioritize safety because in moments like this, every second matters.”
