The controversy erupted after an episode of the BTS Reality Show, where Jarvis opened up about her past health struggles, particularly battling a mouth tumor.
She recounted how Peller stood by her side during the difficult period, emphasizing that she deliberately chose not to involve her family due to the stress of having them travel to Lagos.

“I came to Lagos after school even though I didn’t like it because of how rowdy it is, but it is the centre of business. He [Peller] is like family to me, and I accepted him like that. So, when I wasn’t feeling fine, I didn’t want to involve my parents, but he was by my side,” she shared.

However, while recounting her experience, Peller attempted to interject, prompting Jarvis to sternly tell him to “shut up.”
The moment did not sit well with many viewers, who accused her of frequently dismissing Peller in their interactions.
