Chris Brown, the well-known American singer, songwriter, and dancer, recently revealed in an interview why he will never forget the award-winning Nigerian singer Wizkid.
Back in 2021, Wizkid, famous for his song “Essence,” made headlines by selling out the O2 Arena, which holds 20,000 people, three times in just thirteen minutes.
At one of these events, Wizkid brought Chris Brown on stage for his first U.K. performance in ten years.
Brown was not allowed to travel to the U.K. after he admitted to assaulting his girlfriend, Rihanna, in 2009. The U.K. government used his conviction to refuse him entry in 2010, which impacted his ability to perform there for a while.
Wizkid introduced Chris Brown to the U.K. stage for the first time in a decade, saying,
“This is my brother for over 10 years,” to the audience.. “This is my guy, the first guy to ever show me love internationally and sh–, you know? Tonight this is his first time performing in London in more than 10 years. Now y’all make some noise for my f—ing brother. My real n—a! My dawg! Breezy!”
In a recent interview, Chris Brown expressed that he will always remember Wizkid, calling him a lifelong brother due to his generous actions.
He shared that he has spent his career performing across America but had never been to the UK until Wizkid invited him to his concert at the O2 arena. Chris was touched by Wizkid’s kindness, as he covered all his expenses for the trip.
In his words;
“Wizkid invited me to my biggest stage in the UK in 10 years. I had been performing all around America and hadn’t gone to the UK for any show before. One day, Wiz called me and told me he was getting everything set for me to come to his 02 Arena concert. He paid for everything, and I was wowed. Wizkid is my brother for life.”
