“I don’t want to trend for the wrong reason” – Nkechi Blessing apologises to Imisi after party drama

Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing has finally broken her silence following heavy backlash over a question she asked BBNaija Season 10 winner, Imisi Ayanwale, during her birthday party.

The actress, who was heavily criticised online for raising Imisi’s strained relationship with her mother on such a big day, shared an emotional apology video, insisting her intentions were misunderstood.

In her words, she said

“I sincerely want to apologize to anybody who got offended with the question I asked Imisi some couple of hours ago at her party. I don’t want to trend for the wrong reasons this year.”

Nkechi admitted that the question may have come off as insensitive and asked the public to forgive her, stressing that she was not chasing clout or trying to embarrass Imisi publicly.

She further addressed those dragging her online, saying,

“If you found my question offensive, I am truly sorry. Please find a place in your heart to forgive me. To everyone dragging me, fighting me, or abusing me, I’m sorry. It was not intentional at all.”

Nkechi explained that she stayed silent while the issue was trending to avoid adding fuel to the fire, noting that people who know her background would understand her perspective, especially her close relationship with her late mother.

She also clarified that she had already apologised to Imisi privately before leaving the party, adding that the BBNaija star eventually calmed down.
