A Nigerian woman, Mbah Amarachi Kama, has sparked widespread reactions on Facebook after openly denying a pastor’s claim that he miraculously healed her mother of a 36-year hearing impairment.

The controversy began on Saturday, December 6, when popular cleric Sign Fireman shared photos from day one of his “Umuahia Big Miracle Invasion” programme.

Pastor’s claim of healing

In the post, he narrated an encounter with Amarachi’s mother, stating that she had been unable to hear with her left ear for 36 years but allegedly received instant healing during the service.

Shortly after the post went up, Amarachi entered the comment section to refute the testimony. Her reaction immediately drew massive attention, with social media users on both sides debating the authenticity of the pastor’s claim.

The pastor’s post, which included images of the woman during ministration, described her as someone who had lived with left-ear deafness for decades and had just experienced a miraculous restoration of hearing.

Lady debunks pastor’s miracle claim

Taking to the comment section, the lady, Amarachi, expressed surprise at the pastor’s claim and stated that the woman in the pictures is her mother. She said her mother is not and was never deaf. She wrote:

“36 years of deafness???
This is my mother and she isn’t and wasn’t deaf,ever!
Let’s be guided properly,please.”

She further stated that her mum only stepped out to be prayed for a pain she had temporarily in her left ear and never complained of being deaf.

“For further clarification. “My mother only came out to be prayed for for a pain she had temporarily on her left ear. “She never complained of being deaf and never took any money from anyone to act or make believe anything.

She is completely oblivious of the caption of this post and I ask that the handler of this page should kindly edit the caption to the right thing or take it down completely as soon as possible.”
