A video of a Nigerian man criticizing football star Victor Osimhen for purchasing a ₦3 billion mansion has sparked widespread discussion online.

Victor Osimhen, forward for the Super Eagles and Galatasaray, recently drew attention during a live stream with content creator Carter Efe, where he showcased his lavish ₦3 billion home and high-end cars. Reports indicate that the mansion is a two-storey property located in Hampton Lake, Lekki, Lagos State.

In the viral clip, the man questioned Osimhen’s financial priorities, calling the acquisition of such an expensive house a “mistake” and urging him to invest his wealth in ways that could benefit Nigerians.

He repeatedly expressed his disapproval, stating:

“Osimhen, so you get mind, go buy house of 3 billion Naira. Bro, that’s financial mistake.”

The critic also challenged the footballer on his impact on ordinary citizens, asking:

“Bro, Osimhen, what have we gained from you since you became a superstar? Nigerian poor masses, what have we gained from you? Nothing.”

According to him, wealthy entertainers and athletes in Nigeria should do more to support societal development instead of focusing solely on luxury lifestyles. He suggested that public figures channel their resources into initiatives that create jobs and improve living conditions, particularly given the country’s economic challenges.

“I’m not saying you shouldn’t enjoy your money, but since the government isn’t doing enough, those of you with wealth should show support to the less privileged,” he said.

The man also compared Osimhen to other Nigerian celebrities, such as Burna Boy, who he believes are more socially responsible in how they use their earnings. He recalled Osimhen’s discussion with Carter Efe, noting that the footballer ranked football above music in terms of income.
