The Nigerian entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of Vic Matt, the manager and close friend of Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Bright, who was abducted in Enugu days earlier.

Vic Matt, whose real name is Victor Tobechukwu Okoli, was also a respected executive producer and film director. According to reports, he was kidnapped on Friday near Ntachi Osa, a popular spot in Enugu State, and later shot dead by his captors.

The heartbreaking news was confirmed by fellow filmmaker Ben Cassie, who took to Instagram to pay tribute, describing Vic Matt as a man of integrity who stood out in an industry often clouded by betrayal and envy.

“It is hard for some of us to see those who genuinely wish us well. You always dropped words of encouragement even when I was most silent.
In an industry of snakes and scorpions, you stood different. All you wanted was to make good films. You were cool, calm, and intelligent. To be kidnapped and killed is such a heart-wrenching way to leave this earth.
For all the times you made me laugh and looked out for me, thank you
… I just want to shoot good films, walahi. I’m tired. We can all live and prosper. Goodnight, Vic ♥️.”
