Actor Okon Lagos Demands Gumi’s Arrest, Says No Responsible Government Negotiates with Terrorists

Popular Nigerian actor Imeh Bishop Umoh, widely known as Okon Lagos, has penned an open letter to President Bola Tinubu, urging him to initiate legal action against Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi over his alleged role as a terrorism apologist.

Gumi is known for advocating for and negotiating with terrorists in their hideouts, particularly amid increased banditry activities.

In his Instagram post, Okon Lagos directly challenged the government’s perceived lack of will to prosecute the cleric:

“Sheikh Gumi is a proven banditry apologist. It’s visible to the blind and audible to the deaf that there is a huge deficiency, if not a total lack of courage to arrest, investigate and subsequently prosecute and convict Sheikh Gumi if found culpable for terr*rism.”

The actor echoed a firm stance against negotiating with terrorists, citing a strong belief:

According to El-Rufai, the only repentant terr*rist is a de@d one and I totally agree. Keel them all! Save Nigeria!! No responsible government negotiates with terrorists!!!”

Okon Lagos acknowledged potential political resistance but insisted the President must act urgently to save the nation:

“Yes there may be political pressures from sacred cows, but at this point does it matter? Let sacred cows be touched. Let heads roll.”

He concluded by emphasizing the dire state of the country and his hope for action:

“Our country is near gone. Let’s save what’s remaining of this already existing ruins and restore her back to glory. Mr. President Sir, I know you can. I hope you will.”
