“Don’t post my DM when I die” – Etinosa Idemudia warns, calls out fake celebrity tributes

Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia has sparked reactions online after warning people against posting private messages after someone’s death.

Speaking during a recent podcast, the actress criticised the habit of sharing unreplied direct messages and emotional tributes only after a person passes away, especially from colleagues who ignored them while they were alive.

“All those people that post people’s DM when they are dead, if you post my DM, I’ll wake up, slap you and go back to the grave. Don’t try it,” she said

Etinosa also called out movie producers and colleagues who allegedly ignore requests to work together while someone is alive, only to later post emotional tributes after their death.

She warned that anyone who posts such messages after her death would face serious consequences, even if only in their dreams.

“DM that you didn’t reply, my enemy will die now. If you try it and post that ‘Oh, we should have worked together, I was looking forward to working with you,’ what I will do to you in your dream, you wouldn’t believe it,” she added.

This comes after the reported death of popular Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo, which trended online as celebrities and friends shared their last moments and conversations with him.

Her statement has generated mixed reactions online, with many people agreeing that some tributes are often insincere and done mainly for social media attention.
