“We found Nothing”- EFCC Chairman Reveals He Investigated Pastor Jerry Eze for 6 Months Over Money Laundering

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has revealed that popular cleric Pastor Jerry Eze was once investigated for alleged money laundering.

Speaking on the matter, Olukoyede said the anti-graft agency acted based on intelligence reports and petitions, leading to a six-month probe into the pastor’s financial activities.

“I have some pastors and imams in many facilities that were convicted over fr@ud. I investigated this man here, Pastor Jerry Eze, for six months over alleged money laundering. We work by intelligence and petitions.”

He further explained that suspicious inflows into one account triggered the investigation.

“There was an account where dollars and pounds were dropping like raindrops from Colombia, America, Sri Lanka, and even Togo.”

Despite the suspicious transactions, the EFCC chairman said no wrongdoing was established after months of investigation.

He reiterated the statement again, saying:

“I investigated this man (Pastor Jerry Eze) for six months for money laundering.”
