A Nigerian man has called out social media critic VeryDarkMan, accusing him of making contradictory statements regarding recent protest movements in the country.

In a viral post, the man alleged that VeryDarkMan, popularly known as VDM, initially encouraged opposition leaders to mobilise and campaign for electoral reforms but later downplayed the same protest.

According to him:
“VDM stop using your platform to say rubbish.”

He further accused the influencer of speaking from “both sides of his mouth,” claiming that his stance shifted after the protest gained attention.
“VDM said opposition political leaders should come out and campaign for electoral reforms after they came out to protest against INEC. VDM now changed mouth and watered down the protest and said the protest was dead on arrival.”

The man also alleged that VDM’s remarks could discourage young Nigerians from participating in civic actions.

“VDM is demoralizing Nigerian youths from protesting because he enjoys the current state of Nigeria and has found a way to monetize the pains of Nigerians.”
