Family announces burial of late Odira Nwobu in Anambra

The family of late actor, Odira Nwobu, popularly known as Joseph Olonlo, has announced his burial arrangements following his demise in South Africa.

According to a statement released by the family, the burial ceremony will take place on April 11, 2026, at No. 3 Eziudo Street, Umubelle Village in Awka, Anambra State.

Odira Nwobu passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, in Benoni, near Johannesburg, South Africa. He was 43 years old.

He was found gasping for breath alone in his hotel room; while initial reports suggested high blood pressure, his team later described his sudden death as “mysterious” following an autopsy.

Family members described him as a devoted family man whose presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Friends, relatives, and well-wishers are expected to gather to pay their final respects as preparations for the burial continue.
