Drama as man storms church with matchet, chases worshippers over noise disturbance

Drama unfolded in Ibeku, Umuahia, Abia State, after a man armed with a cutlass stormed a church during a night vigil, forcing worshippers to flee for safety.

According to a viral video currently making rounds on social media, the church congregation was deeply engaged in praise and worship when the man suddenly appeared at the premises.

He was seen wielding a cutlass as he angrily confronted church members, claiming the noise from the vigil was disturbing him and ordering them to leave the premises.

This caused panic and confusion, with several worshippers running for their lives.

Thankfully, no injuries were recorded during the incident. However, many attendees were left visibly shaken by the frightening experience.

The incident has since sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians condemning the man’s actions and calling for peaceful ways to resolve disputes.

Reacting to the video, some social media users stated that while residents have a right to peace and quiet, resorting to violence and wielding a weapon is unacceptable.

A commentator wrote, “This is traumatizing. Imagine going for night vigil and someone storms in with a weapon.” Another said, “Everyone deserves peace. Churches should be mindful of their noises too.”
