Award-winning Nigerian singer, Davido, has announced his interest in exploring the film industry, expressing a desire to play the role of a taxi driver in a movie.

The singer made this known on Monday during a panel session at the 2025 Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) held in Lagos.
Speaking at the session titled “Rhythms of the Continent: The Afrobeat Movement and Its Impacts on African Film,” Davido said he was excited about delving into film production and collaborating with African filmmakers.

“My brother was saying that he was going to give me a role. I told him I wanted to do a role that would be shot by a taxi driver or something out of the blue,” he said.

The Unavailable crooner noted that his interest in acting is part of his plan to expand his creative expression beyond music, adding that he hopes to feature in authentic African stories.
