Speaking during a podcast interview with fellow actress Ayo Adesanya, Akintola claimed that cheating is deeply ingrained in Nigerian culture, insisting that “90 to 99% of men cheat by default.”

The conversation began after Adesanya read a note from a lady seeking advice about her unfaithful boyfriend. Responding, Akintola argued that infidelity is not a new trend but a generational pattern, rooted in polygamy and cultural upbringing.

She added, “I don’t know where this idea of fidelity came from in Africa. The reality is 90% of our men cheat, it’s ingrained in them. Some even grew up following their fathers to see girlfriends.”

The actress added that women should be realistic in their expectations of men instead of living in denial.
