Tuma had accused Regina of infidelity and questioned the paternity of her children, claims that eventually led to his arrest and detention. He has now been in custody for more than three months.

Speaking during an interview with media personality Lucky Udu, Tuma’s mother and brother expressed their distress over his continued incarceration.
According to his brother, although the court granted Tuma bail three weeks ago, he remains behind bars because the sureties presented by the family have repeatedly been rejected. The main issue, he explained, is the court’s insistence on tax clearance documents, which have been turned down several times despite multiple submissions.

Visibly emotional, Tuma’s mother described her son as her only source of hope since the death of her husband. She broke down in tears, pleading with Ned Nwoko and Nigerians at large to show compassion and pardon him. She further revealed that she had sold nearly all her belongings to support him and lamented the rejection and stigma they now face from their community.

Tuma’s brother also highlighted a deeper reason behind his outspoken nature. He linked it to their family’s unresolved pain, recalling how their late father, a former police officer, was allegedly dismissed unjustly and detained without proper trial. He later passed away due to an illness contracted during his detention. This lingering trauma, he explained, inspired Tuma’s activism and outspokenness on social media.

The family emphasized that, although they do not condone his comments against Regina Daniels, Tuma should not be regarded as a criminal. Instead, they described him as a victim of societal injustice and appealed for urgent intervention in his case.
