“Iyabo Ojo swore public apology to Naira Marley, never delivered” — Verydarkman

Controversial activist and social media commentator Verydarkman has revealed that his primary motivation for the late Mohbad’s saga was to vindicate singer Naira Marley, who had been widely accused in the wake of the late artist’s death.

In a detailed account shared online, Verydarkman claimed that his perspective shifted after a meeting with Naira Marley at the National Cybercrime Centre (NCCC) office of the Nigeria Police Force. During the visit, he said Naira Marley informed him that actress Iyabo Ojo had personally pleaded for forgiveness.

Initially skeptical, Verydarkman said he was then taken into a room where he met Iyabo Ojo and her lawyer. He alleged that her legal representative proposed that Iyabo not only apologise to Naira Marley but also help promote the singer’s next single as part of efforts to end the public feud.

According to him, “Naira Marley agreed to forgive Iyabo Ojo, even though he doubted she would publicly clear his name. He said she’s very manipulative.”

He went on to describe a tense reconciliation roundtable at the NCCC, attended by Iyabo Ojo, Tonto Dikeh, Sam Larry, and their respective lawyers, alongside NPF officials. During the meeting, he said, Iyabo admitted her emotional reaction led her to accuse Naira Marley of Mohbad’s death and offered an apology.

“Sam Larry also asked her to clear his name, and she did. She said all her accusations were based on viral videos,” Verydarkman added.

He further claimed that Iyabo Ojo requested two weeks to work with her lawyer on a public statement to clear both Naira Marley and Sam Larry. But within five days, according to him, not only had no apology surfaced, but blogs were circulating reports that Naira Marley had begged Iyabo Ojo, a narrative he insists was misleading.

“Then came the story of her shop burning and a blog post making Naira Marley look like the one seeking her favour. That’s when I knew she was doing damage control,” he said.

In defense of his controversial decision to leak content from a private WhatsApp group chat involving Iyabo Ojo and others, Verydarkman said he acted to expose what he believed was a betrayal of the agreement reached at the NCCC meeting.
