Wunmi Aloba, the embattled widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad has expressed her deep pain over his passing, addressing certain misconceptions, including the allegation of being an addict.

In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Wunmi reflected on the life and struggles of her late husband, saying she feels that God “cheated” him by allowing his untimely death.
“He was a responsible husband to me and a responsible son to his parents. He was not a drug addict, and he was my best friend,” she stated.

Wunmi revealed that Mohbad had big dreams for their son, Liam, including plans to take him out of Nigeria for a better future. She shared how her mother-in-law has encouraged her to ensure Liam grows up knowing about his father.

“Liam recognizes him in pictures, but my mother-in-law has said I should always let him know his dad has passed. Adura has been playing a good fatherly role for Liam,” she said.

Speaking on her grief, she admitted to still being traumatized by her husband’s death but acknowledged that death is inevitable.
“I am still traumatized about my husband’s death, but I know everyone will die one day. I feel God cheated my husband by allowing him to die,” she lamented.

Mohbad, whose real name was Ileriolwa Oladimeji Aloba, passed away under controversial circumstances on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27. His death sparked nationwide outrage, leading to ongoing investigations into the events surrounding his demise.
