Sophia Momodu allegedly files counter affidavit to oppose Davido’s joint custody

Davido’s first mother, Sophia Momodu, reportedly files a counter-102-paragraph affidavit to oppose his request for joint custody of their daughter, Imade. Davido is a superstar singer.

Recall that Davido filed a lawsuit for joint custody of his daughter a few days before his traditional wedding, claiming Sophia was withholding contact from him and demanding money.

The singer stated that, while he did have a relationship with Momodu, it ended years ago and that they had decided to co-parent their child.

He claimed, however, that this agreement had not been upheld, claiming, among other things, that Sophia had turned down his offer of a house and was demanding N5 million in rent each month.

In response, Sophia said that during Davido’s romance with Chioma in 2020–2022, she had an affair with him. She refuted the accusations that she was preventing him from seeing their daughter Imade, saying instead that Davido had never tried to see her and had left her behind because she wouldn’t have sex with him.

Sophia reportedly submitted a 102-paragraph declaration to challenge Davido’s request for joint custody, according to recent sources. Her legal representatives filed the affidavit, Dr. Anthony Idigbe SAN of Punuka Attorneys and Dr. Bimpe Ajegbomogun.

The next hearing for the estranged couple is scheduled for Friday, July 5, 2024.
