“God knows best” – Actress, Rita Edochie speaks amid Yul Edochie and first wife, May’s divorce rumours

Rita Edochie, a veteran Nollywood actress, appears to have reacted to speculations that Yul Edochie’s first wife, May, is seeking a divorce.

It was previously reported that May Edochie and her lawyer allegedly went to court on July 10 to file a petition to dissolve her 18-year union with Yul.

Since he made a public announcement of his marriage to Judy Austin, a colleague, in April 2022 and the birth of their kid, May and Yul have been at conflict.

May at the time emphasized that nobody should be made to adopt polygamy and was vehemently opposed to Yul’s choice to do so.

She noted that some traditions and religions support polygamy, and while she respects such convictions, she personally rejects a practice that runs contrary to her own religious beliefs and family values.

Rita Edochie, who was married to Yul’s uncle, posted a prayer request on her Instagram page in response to news that May was ready to divorce Yul.

She recalled how the family had once been a happy, peaceful family of six people until everything changed.

Rita Edochie acknowledged that God is in control and begged for God to keep May and her kids safe.
